  1. I like this feature you have Sarah.

  2. Do you mean sharing the quotes every day Linda? I’m not sure if it is more for me or others. Ha.

  3. Yes as I really enjoy them Sarah – I had told you when we first “met” that I did a quote every day and I got enjoyment out of sharing the quotes and when people left the law firm where I worked, they would ask to still be included at either their new office or a home e-mail address. I one time had everyone at work (about 75 in the Firm) and about 30 or more people that had left, and also bus friends that I told about it. I had “Incredimail” at the time and it was a download for the computer that gave you great graphics for your e-mail tailored for any occasion and I used it every day and a client we have sent out e-mails every day – some funny, some tailored to holidays, so I tucked them away and after the quote I would say “scroll down and read see this link” and if was not a link, I sent out a separate e-mail to launch the same time as the other one. I put a lot of work into it and after my boss and I went out on our own I continued doing it until 2010 when our computer system crashed and I lost everything in Outlook, so I stopped doing it as I was working from home at that time and it took our I.T. guy a good six months to put our system back together again, but new work stations, servers – it was a real mess. But sometimes I think blogging reminds me of those days and several of my friends who follow me by subscriptions were also “Thought for Today” followers.

  4. Sounds like you are quite the inspirational figure at your workplaces – great job! I would have liked to have you as a co-worker. I think that “thought for today” or “quotes of the day” type posts are a great way for people to give their brain a break from the busy day. I can’t even imagine how you felt when your collection was lost. Just last night, about 3 am, I was suddenly awakened by the reminder that I need to back up my hard drive today. Thank you for the extra reminder Linda. Do you think you would return to “daily thoughts”?

(also, sorry for the slow reply to this message. It was sent to my spam box for some reason.)

  5. I think we would have enjoyed each other’s company at work as well. I liked doing creative things for my co-workers. My mom and I always did something festive (baking or something with candy for each of the holidays and I took it in, but these were just for the administrative staff. They were a nice group of women. When my boss and I left, it was nice to be out on our own and not have to toe the line with all the rules and regs of the office, I did miss the camaraderie, especially because my boss was rarely in the office, except at the end of the day and a lot on the weekends. My boss was a workaholic and we are very busy right now and it is becoming the same as it was before I was laid off after the recession.

I did enjoy doing the daily thoughts Sarah, but I was upset when I lost all my graphics and items I had squirreled away so I decided not to go back to it again. Some of those people subscribe to my blog via e-mail, though.

I have had things go to my SPAM box too – I started checking every morning, but since I found some fellow bloggers in there, it has just been a lot of SPAM about sports paraphernalia.
